Suspension springs

After having no luck finding new suspension springs from any of the usual Bristol suppliers, I found this company that have all the original specifications for all Bristol models to manufacture and deliver new springs within 10 days at £60 each

Coil Springs, high quality coiled suspension springs from coil springs

Maybe of use to other owners

Default springs

Greetings from Sunny Nerja in Spain for our pre Christmas break..
Thank you Greg, that is very useful, I have been thinking for some time that the Springs on the rear of my 407 could do with a new lease of life. Fully loaded for 5 days a the Good wood Revival with clothes, champers and a motability scooter it looked very low on the ground and the embellishers in the exhausts kept scraping the ground.

Torsion bars not coil springs on the back but if the spacer/mountings fitted under the front springs or those spring themselves are weak it can have an effect. on the ride height and cause the exhaust to ground.
I am sure someone has posted details in the past on how to adjust the bars. but if they need replacing I would say the only safe bet would be to get them from Bristol Cars.

my 411 mk 2 sits about right on the road but when laden with suitcases
and
the tail end sinks

to overcome this the previous owner fitted adjustabl hight air shockers

to jack the car up at the back you simple pump in some air and upit comes

what this does to the handleing i am not sure but it seems fine to me

on a 3000km trip on the last bristol car club national rally we travelled
over all sorts of roads with no problems

You are so right, sitting here in Spain getting my liver soaked my mind must have gone as well. The Front springs have been re done and all four shockers changed, I guess that the luggage I carried was heavier than the four sets of golf clubs the boot was designed for.
It is the first time I have had any trouble, the motability scooter weighed 200lbs, I carried a full set of tools, a case of champers, two full suit cases, spare oil, water, an electric fridge and that was without the cases of 1960's clothes inside for 5 days!
I shall stick to driving my merc around the High Sierras for the next few weeks!
Thank you for pointing out my mistake, I just got over enthusiastic with Greg's post.
Nick

Yep, and the others. They have 412 springs, which are the same size but stiffer and all are more expensive although that wouldn't have stopped me buying from BCL.
