It looks as though your 411 will be in good company on the Cayman Islands, see "Cayman Motor Museum".

For those who are island bound, there is also this, in Barbados. It has no website. I've been there several times.
"For automotive enthusiasts or just generally car-crazy people, the Mallalieu Motor Collection is a necessary stop when visiting Barbados. The collection features mostly British cars, as one would expect of a collection in a former British colony. However, there are non-British cars in the collection, including a pre-WWII Chevrolet Master sedan, a Citroen Traction Avant 15CV, and a military Jeep. The old British cars, however, range from regular cars like the Morris Oxford, Hillman Imp and Ford Escort (the examples of the last two being ex-rally cars) to a very rare Lanchester and the only surviving Caribbean version of the Daimler State Limousine. The cars range in size from the Mini-based Wolseley Hornet to the huge Bentley Mk VI and the aforementioned Daimler Limousine. They don't have a Cobra there, but they do have an Allard P1, a British saloon car with a Ford flathead V-8, and a Rover P6 3500, with a Buick-designed, Rover-built aluminium V-8. The only compliant I have is one shared with Mr. Mallalieu: the building is too small and it is hard to get good all-encompassing views of the cars. However, I was grateful to see these cars at all, and it is a bargain to do so at a price of B$10 (just over US$5)." |

The Bristol will live in the Museum part of the year.
The car collection there is on a world top level. The owner is a serious collector of Ferraris. Some British cars, Jag D-type amongst them. Of course the Yellow RR is there, Elton Johns Bentley, etc. Idi Amin's Mercedes SL. 1885 Benz. Lots and lots of car related stuff. And Motorbikes. A bit cramped, but the owner is trying to buy the next lot, and double the floor area. He still has 40 + cars stored in Norway and UK. One of my ex cars is there too, a very rare 1939 MB 230S. And yesterday, I donated my -74 BMW motorbike to the musem. I do not have space, and hate using a bike here. People here do all sorts of dangerous things behind the wheel. Text, apply the makeup, etc etc In fact the reason I bought the Bristol is the owner, a friend since a long time. He knows my Bristol very well from UK, he spend many miles in it. Before X-mas, we talked old cars, what to buy for the Museum (I sit on the Board) and he mentioned that the Island lacks a Bristol, and that I should get one again. I found Bertie for sale the next day....... I am sure the Barbados Museum is nice too, but rest assured, not on the same level the one in Cayman. |
