Default In praise of the 406

Having now driven a 406 a few miles I realise I have hopelessly underestimated this model. It has a reputation for being under powered that was justified 30 years ago. Now this is all but irrelevant.

In the early late fifties through to the eighties there was a fair amount of slow moving traffic on the "A" roads and constant overtaking was necessary to make decent progress. Nowadays traffic all moves at a similar pace fairly close to the speed limit. The 406 is happy in overdrive at motorway speeds and is a very relaxed ride.
