Peter,
On my 603 the vent for the tank comes into the boot on the passengers side and exits through the boot floor. From memory the second pipe on that side is a drain to the filler compartment but I will check the car later. Also to see if there is a pipe on the drivers side. You can see the tank vent pipe in the photo of your petrol tank.

Update,
Having looked at the two 603's on WLO the only pipe going through the boot is the vent for the tank. On 4981 H the trim is back in place and with a bad back I cant for the time being remove it but last winter when we did some minor boot floor repairs we encountered two pipes the larger being the tank vent, the smaller rubber pipe was a drain for the petrol filler compartment, as the drain hole in that area is in the front corner I would have expected the drain pipe to run down the front of the wheel arch but on 4981H it went through the boot. Indeed I think we had to replace a section of it as the rubber had gone hard and split. Sorry I can't be more help.
