![]() Hello Dorien,
sadly, I have not found any original steel wheels for my 409, that's why I am adapting Mercedes steel 16x6" rims. The brake hoses have been checked and replaced in April 2010 when the brake servo collapsed; I'll have then checked again when I shall bring my 409 back to the brake/chassis specialists at Frenatutto. We have tried many hoses but we didn't find any that could be adapted here in Italy: the one of the first series Range Rover looked perfect....until they tried to refit the power steering belt. Thus I am looking for a new one once again. Thanks Stefano |

![]() Stefano, I have to tell you how much I admire your two-tone paint job, as we refer to such here in the States.
It's extremely elegant to my eyes. I once had a '71 M-B with a factory paint job along those lines...taken in '71. http://i34.photobucket.com/albums/d1...g?t=1300111433 I was 40 years younger then! |

![]() Thank you for your kind words! I really like the idea of a two-tone paint job in a classic car. After all, the contrast of color between the body and top has the same effect and emotion that we all love in a classic convertible.
I must also admit that I like your picture and that Mercedes, but, alas, I am a Mercedes owner and an admirer of the Marque as well.... Cheers Stefano Quote:
