Serena - I'm pleased that you found the photo resize and upload instructions useful

My standard edition of the book is number 70. I think it was purchased in 1998. It was the most expensive ever for me, because it led to me buying a Bristol!

Greg, I don't see this as my responsibility. This site does not purport to be an auction site and I would draw attention to this sticky thread at the beginning of this section of the site. Caveat emptor!

That said, if it were listed on eBay and a link to the item posted here and the other Bristol forums, it is very likely that it would still be purchased by a Bristol enthusiast. It is unlikely that a dealer would pay as much for the book as a genuine enthusiast.

eBay does of course offer the advantage of a public auction system, although it's traceability is not fool proof (as I know from personal experience) and it doesn't offer anything special in terms of payment options. There is of course a cost to the seller via eBay, but maybe a higher price could be achieved which could compensate. However the price should in theory be limited by the fact that the book can still be bought new from Palawan.

I can't think of any easy way to auction the book via this site, other than Serena inviting blind bids (sent directly to Serena).

Kevin, I would prefer to keep the auction to this site, if possible - if that is alright with you. The members of this site were very helpful when I posted my enquiry about the book, and therefore I would prefer to sell it to a member of this site if possible.

Will it be alright for me to send copies of all bids to you, Kevin, so that you can verify interim / winning bids if asked to do so?

Thanks again for all your help. Very best regards.

Default "A Private Car" book for sale

I think it was so that owners with 400 series cars ie 400-413 would ensure
a quick sale of at least 14 editions.

I have lots of Bristol Car bits and bobs to sell. I will make a list and sealed bids can be sent to Kevin.

This is a great service.

Thanks

P.S. Any moneys sent to me will need to go through my broker. Mr Hugh Jarse at the Panama National Bank.

Sorry Serena, I have neither the desire nor the time to run a blind bid auction service, and I don't want the responsibility either. So please don't send bids to me.

Regards,
Kevin

PS. I have the stopped the annoying messages from Noosanet! This illustrates the perils of allowing people to post in the forums by email.

I think the simplest way, is if anyone else wishes to bid, please contact me with a 'best price' bid. Whichever is the highest bid received by next Sunday evening (19th September), will be the winner of the auction.

I hope this is acceptable to everyone. Best wishes.
