![]() When you say 1957, that is probably the year that the car was first registered.
The best I can tell is that all of the cars were built between 1953 and 1955. I always listed my cars (four of them) as 1954. 404X3069 (previously one of mine) has been run in the Mille Miglia. Which car do you have? Bill Watkins |

![]() 3069 reached Chicago in September, 1954. Although the cars were not delivered in order, it's a reasonable guess that 3066 arrived sometime in '54.
I'll see if I can get some more information about entry requirements from the former owner of 3069. |

![]() Maybe this is a whole other thread but I have to ask.. exactly what dictates the year a car is titled? How is it conceivable that 3066 and 3069 supposedly left the factory at almost the same time but one is titled a 54 and the other a 57?

![]() The requirements would be very helpful. Thank you.

![]() The cars were slow sellers. As you may know 12 of the 142 were destroyed in a warehouse fire in Chicago. Other cars were, no doubt, in the hands of dealers throughout the country. I have one list, of unknown origin, that says that 3066 was built in 1954 along with all the cars from 3002 to 3089. There are others listed as late as 1959, but I doubt it.

![]() Very interesting stuff. Peter McGough has promised to help shed some light on this when he gets back into town.
But the question still remains can this AB run in the MM whether it be a 54 or a 57. I am beginning to think it can. But the jury still out. |
