On my 603, there's a driver side foot level air intake

I think you will find that the air comes through a plenum chamber under the windscreen - at least it does on our Brigand. No car manufacturer would consider air coming direct from the engine bay as engine fumes would pollute the passenger compartment.

Our Polari really loves the air the low level vent provides when he sits in the footwell as it really eases his car sickness, still this is a problem with Toy poodles - such rugged little dogs but very poor at travelling.
