I'm surprised there's a difference between the 313 and 318, they are essentially the same engine, although the transmission did change between the 408 and 408 Mk2 - maybe that's why the flange is different?

Either that or the starter you were looking at David was for a 318 LA engine, and not the older A engine which Bristol used.

Unfortunately many people refer to the LA engine as an A engine, which is guaranteed to cause confusion!
