Thank you, Roger. Good to have confirmation that I'm not losing the plot! I think what you thought you had remembered is a better arrangement but leaves the fan running with the ignition off unless the relay coil has a separate switched live feed.

Default 410 Aircon compressor mount

I am at last making some progress with installation of aircon on my 410. Pictures of compressor pump bracket attached.https://www.bristolcars.info/forums/...1&d=1733580767

410 air conditioning finally up and running. I gave up on the Vintage Air under dash evaporator that I bought as it took up too much knee room and found a much smaller Eberspacher unit. It's only rated at 2.5KW but still makes quite a difference.

The centre console panel and vent are just proof of concept but once finished and veneered to match the dashboard should look better than most of the aftermarket bolt in solutions.

The under dash unit is immediately forward of the fresh air vents which is a happy accident. I have interrupted the feed to the compressor from the under dash fans so they can be used to recirculate, to blow ambient air from the vents or to cool. There is usually a down side to a retro fit and in this case it's fan noise but I think that's a price worth paying.
