When you say it is beyond use what is actually wrong with it, I have access to an engineer who works on his own, I took him a head recently which though repaired needed more work, I would have regarded it as being fit for a boat anchor , what he tells me is possible took me aback, it won't be cheap but a lot less than the cost of a replacement head.
