Default 405 Dashboard

Does anyone have a template for the 405 dashboard instrument panel? I have a piece of Elm that will look very good when finished. I know I could use the original to mark up the outline and hole centres but I want to keep the original in situ and do the transfer in one operation. Thanks in advance.

John,
Does the wood dash not just unscrew. On the 400 the instruments and wiring are fixed onto a steel back plane,so the dash easily removes- mine is in elm done from a template from the original dash.

Hi John, if it doesn't come out easily, I have one (in yew) that came out of a late 404 which is the same as the 405 (the early 404's were slightly different).

I would be happy to trace around it and the holes if it helps you.

Chris Sherwood.

It does unscrew but I would then have to dismantle the instruments, use the original as a template and then reassemble the original until such time as I get the new one cut and finished. Not impossible I know but just an extra step in the process. Do you have a photo of your finished 400 dash?

Hi Chris,
That would be great if you could trace round your 404 piece. I can send you my postal address. Thanks

On the 400 it just fits on over the instruments. just unscrews ,no instrument dismantling.

I think you live near me so could come out & see it. Will pm you.
