This is more or less my memory as well (but being 30 years ago . . .). I do recall asking at the factory and being told that it was worth 'keeping an eye out for the odd extra bracket and screw' because it depended upon how various bits of the woodwork were going in on the day it was originally installed!

I have this nagging feeling that there might have been one superfluous right-angled bracket somewhere, but this might have been some other piece of woodwork as I adopted this technique when disassembling all such pieces, thereafter.
