I have an early 412 with the frameless windows, I believe there were only about 20 of these made.I seem to be having constant trouble with the whole window system. My advice to you is becareful if you decide to not restore the auto wind down system as there is a danger when closing or opening the door to have the glass catch in the rubber and end up with a broken window. I would be looking for a new rubber that the glass just pressed against the rubber as opposed to the origin system where it presses up into a grove. It might be worth looking at changing over to the framed window if such a thing exists on the second hand market'
Generally though I have learnt to live with water leaks both from the windows and the roof.
