hi
long time since I have followed this up, however due to illness and other Rover projects things have been stalled. so here we are today with a 406 with 2600 twin carb SD1 engine and BW 65 auto gearbox, primarily so my wife could driver but unfortunately she is no longer able to drive.
firstly the car is now running fine but seems to be revving too high relative to the road speed
just over 3000 RPM for 50 MPH
so two thoughts,
should a revert back to a manual, I have a LT77 5 speed box
and / or
should I up the rear axle ratio
any thoughts welcome
by the way I am a rover fan. had several, currently has a 1940 10 coupe, a 1947 16 6 light sea
saloon, a 1967 2000 TC manual and 1 1998 200 coupe had from new
so hence the link to Rover powertrain
