Default Gear selector cable - cast iron torqueflite

Does anyone know how the gear selector cable is removed from the cast iron torqueflite on a 407 and 408? I don’t think it should be too difficult - but it is not just pulling out.

Thanks

Giles

Giles,
I think this will help , I remember John doing the job on my 408 years ago and I was fairly certain he had to drop the transmission pan, this explains the reason why.
