That certainly explains it! And the tank doesn't have to have much water in it before the pickup pipe is seeing it. You will want to work out how the water got there in the first place...

I should have said that a small piece of the rear seat skirt needs removing to clear the retractor. This only really OK if like me you are getting the seats redone anyway.
