Anyone have suggestions for buying a set of carpets new or used ?

Having carpets made
 
No sense in trying for new old stock, or finding something used in decent shape. Wilton carpet is readily available, and there has to someone in your area that can use your old ones for a pattern. One suggestion: if the old felt padding is used in your car, it would be wise to replace it with something that will not hold water and give you that 'musty' smell. All the best. Ron

I used dynamat on my 412 as a sound killer and it is excellent. As well as removing the musty smell you can get with felt it kills the higher pitched noises. There are other suppliers like Noise killer.

The only problem I found with increasing the depth of the underlay is that there is limited room for your feet at the pedals
