I have recently bought a 412 that's a decent runner but needs a bit of attention to details.

It's a series 1 so has the frameless windows.

My question is how far do I chase a good seal between the windows and the targa top?

At the moment the seals are more or less shot. I know the frameless windows were never exactly fantastic. The automatic window drop has been disables/doesn't work. How far do I go looking for a good seal between the roof and window? it is something that can be got to a decent level or is it a question of getting it vaguely water tight and accepting it is what it is?

thanks in advance

I have been contacted by Graham Smith, who has a 400 for sale with another available soon. The first car is FOW234, a December 1948 car has a claim to fame in that the story of its collection from a yard in 1972 was reported in the BOC Bulletin Spring 1972 - a notable tale that involved it being towed along the M1 at 70mph! The car has had all welding and new panels done to a high standard. .With new inner and outer sills and running boards, chassis, inner rear wings and boot floor, wings repaired and rust treated. 4 New wheels powder coated with new tyres. .The engine is out for engine bay painting. Needs interior refurb and painting. Graham says all the hard work has been done, and you would have a blank canvas and can finish the car as you wish. The bumpers are missing but pretty complete apart from that - lights etc. all present. .He is asking around £18000 ono, has the.V5 in his name, and can supply pictures upon request. For sale as reducing his car collection. .Another 400 will be for sale when that comes back from the welders, and will be in the same condition and standard as FOW 234. .All enquiries to Graham Smith grahamandsharonsmith@btinternet.com Tel 07875 689047. .Cars are in South Yorkshire.

Hi I’m very new to this forum having just acquired a 1981 Beaufighter that hasn’t had the easiest of times. The previous owner has sorted out the chassis and brakes and, then painted it gold for a TV series. All this leavers me with a lot to do.
Can anyone please confirm if the exterior door handles are the same aa Fiat X19 Lancia Stratos ? Look very similar.
Also does anyone have any experience or advice for fitting a Chevy LS engine especially around the engine mounts? I understand the factory performed a number of upgrades using this unit.
