What colour are the wing bay doors?
 

I am restoring the wing bay doors on my 411 S5. I assume that the inside of the doors, together with the hinges, were originally painted black. Correct?

The wing doors on my 407 have always been the same colour and std of finish as the exterior of the car. The recess was painted black and the base lined with ribbed rubber.
I hope that helps, at most concours I have been to when the doors are open and left open it matches the car exterior which looks good. I as always stand to be corrected but when my car was resprayed in its 1st year of ownership by Bristol Cars, presumably under warranty the photographs of the wing doors were sprayed off the car and are the exterior colour.

Although obviously a different series, my 411 s2 was body colo(u)r also. Possibly this changed by s5 so hopefully an s5 owner can chime in.

My 410 is body colour on the inside of the bay doors, but I have recently photographed a 411 s4 that was black on the inside (see attached image). It looked quite smart I thought.
