Default Boot door lock assembly

Does anyone know where I might get hold of a boot door lock assembly for a 410? Is it the same as a part from another car that I might be able to use?

Many thanks.

I think that it did not remain constant for every car of a given model. I had a bit of a hunt for my 408, and found some 408s have Rootes locks, which twist to open, but mine had a push button lock shared with a Daimler Dart.

Thanks Giles. Mine is the twist knob type so probably Hillman or Sunbeam. I think the rear lights are Sunbeam Alpine/Hillman Minx too.

Reviving this old thread as I am also trying to find a boot lock for a 410. My lock is the Daimler Dart type (push mechanism). It seems that I am missing an interior piece, since the lock barrels turns freely, with or without a key.

Does anyone have a contact for a replacement Dart lock (they seem to be unbelievably difficult to source) or - even better- pictures of the internal parts of their locks? Thanks

Yours looks like the one attached? I don't have a picture of this dissembled I'm afraid.

You have to take off the panel at the back of the back of the boot to access it. The lock and catch mechanism looks like this:

I bought a catch from Bryan Purves - Home - Bryan Purves - so he may also be able to sell you a new lock?

I don't know without taking it apart whether you can get a new barrel.

Yes that’s exactly the one. I did speak with Brian Purves, but he does not have one readily available.... Hence the call for help
