OK Kevin,
I know we've never exactly seen eye to eye but you have finally made me open my eyes. By using your site I and the rest of us have created a deluded monster who thinks that his site is the centre of Bristol conversation thanks to him. Time for a reality check! The only reason you even need this site, I understand, is because you yourself were banned from the official BOC site. This was before my Bristol days but having heard your blinkered arrogant views I'm not surprised. You claim to have gathered so many members due to the quality of your site - actually you gathered them because someone posted a link on the BOC. I really don't want to be part of this site any more so please remove my details immediately. I will in future ONLY be using the forums at the BOC website and the Yahoo site. So guys if you want to hear my great pearls of wisdom (now who's deluded LOL) - or laugh at my nonsense and stirring you'll have to join me at the BOC forums. And just for the record, I've never had any post censored on the BOC and I'm pretty free with my opinions as you all know. So goodbye Kevin, I'll leave you to your empire! Philippa |

Now let me get this straight, one member of this forum who delights in being known as opinionated, controversial and a general stirrer is upset because another member, who also happens to be the convenor of this forum, is opinionated, controversial and a bit of a stirrer and as a result is going to resign.
Now even though I don't regard myself as being a computer whiz even I know how to resign myself from this or any other forum. The party of the first part, OK Phillippa, as part of her decision demands to be removed from the forum. Well, I suppose it is hard to flounce out of a room if no one knows you are flouncing. I for one will be sorry to see her go but I have no intention of joining her. I enjoy this forum and find it far more entertaining than the Yahoo equivalent and have not checked the BOC forum for ages. So Kevin, sorry but you still have at least one subscriber, please keep up the 'arrogance', stirring and even the opinionation. I am old enough and ugly enough to be able to cope with all of those faults, in fact I probably share some of them. I do have a little trouble with self-righteousness, so would anyone else so afflicted please do the right thing. Cheers Dale Allen |

Atta girl, P, stand up for what you think is right.
I know where to find you...actuallly, several places where I can search, so we won't lose touch. Happy Bristoling, and good luck with your upcoming show's efforts. |

I must have missed something whilst I was in hospital!
What a thing, I thought this site was devoid of that sort of thing! What have you done Kevin to upset the georgeos Phillipa and her square car? Did you "moderate" the posts or has something happened "off line". Whose toys need picking up from beside the Bristol Pram? . Nick ;-) |

As a long time lurker this revalation has moved me to write this reply. The host of this board might have been banned from the other side but is one of few Bristol enthusiasts who seems to have technical knowledge to match his passion for these cars and the will and skill to actually do something to disemminate information and help to owners through building, running and moderating his own forum. People like Kevin ( Not to mention Christopher Balfour) should be applauded for their efforts - but obviously not by yourself. Your defection to other side will be a great loss to all of us - I am sure they will welcome your petulant footstamping and your own entertaining brand of trivial commentry - boo hoo & good riddance. Ozy my man! Good to hear from you! I'll e-mail you, if you've still got
the same address? Belinda's gone - she had a trip to Argentina with her next owner and then he sold her on again. I'm looking for a Bentley GT, just to be even more controversial! I'm sick of these old cars and the strange Bristol types... (Oops, I'll get thrown out of here if I'm not careful.... ha ha ha!) Only Joking you interesting Bristol owners' hereabouts. Luke. |

Given that Philippa always read into my posts whatever she wanted to read, there is no point in me responding to her claims.
Thanks for the positive comments from those of you who find the site useful. Regards, Kevin (the deluded empire building monster) |

No point at all in responding - you sane humble saint !
All I can say is your site ha provided me with good technical knowledge and a few good laughs - Thanks But if you ever disagree with me I will kick the dog, make myself sick and scream and scream Philipa |

.....back when I was a member of the BOC, then living in the UK, I was told by a few of the other Bristol owning members, that anyone who owned a Bristol was slightly odd, in the nicest possible way of course.
I didn't really understand at the time what they meant but after reading some of the posts on this site I am starting to see the light! The other thing they mentioned was that this eccentricity that exists in Bristol ownership is one of the endearing features of the marque, and with that I can only agree ![]() |
