Damaged 411
 

Just spotted a damaged 411/2 on e-bay with Douglas Valley Salvage. Cat D with wing, door, bonnet and some front damage rest looks good and not too expensive for the good tin bashers among us.
Look under cars not classic cars, other cars section as it is not listed by make.

Looks as though someone tried to take it through a stone wall to test the maker's claim. No doubt it made it, but the alloy body paid the price. If that car was stateside, I would be there looking at it right now. Not too many examples over here, and those that live here seldom come up for sale.

There probably still is a 410 sitting in a field in Tulsa Oklahoma that Toly Arutunoff raced in the 2nd Cannonball Baker Race Across America and a 410 in Virginia that slid off a cliff. The latter was almost free when I looked at it in 1995.

Ronald, shipping is cheap... It cost me about UKP 2500 to ship my 411 to Grand Cayman. London - Washington (I think) - Miami - Grand Cayman.

And I suspect you can import it as spare parts?

Yes, that is not bad at all, considering how much prices have risen in these past few years. I live in the Midwest, and that 2,000 or so miles from the west coast always runs around $1200. As to imports, they can arrive on the East Coast or sometimes can be brought to Chicago via the Great Lakes, about 8 hours north of me. One Aston I bought from a farmer in Indiana was driven home from the docks in Chicago. But, that is another story, and funny.

Is it recorded as a write off ? Any chassis damage ? Does it have any history with it ? Does the door shut and has the gap altered ?
