Default 411 S4 Restoration

Hi,

I am starting to restore my 411 S4. I am starting with paint strip. The front section of the body is not so bad. I will keep this post update if there any porgress.

I would be interested to find out why your car has a bulge in the rear of the bonnet. Haven't seen that before. Does it have a different engine or bigger carb/air filter than standard set-up?

Just noticed that you already commented about this in a different thread - that earlier in it's life it had been fitted with a turbo-charged engine at the factory. Are you aiming to reinstate this when you restore it?

I am thinking to put V8 engine from BMW (M62B44) and turbo charged since the Chrysler engine is not popular here in Thailand so difficult for spare parts. That’s why previous owner gave up with Chrysler engine. Moreover M62B44 is modern engine with electronic fuel injection so it should be better drivability.

The paint strip almost done. The body is not so bad. No any big accident found. Just minor dent for the car that almost 47 years old.
