Default Heater Controls - Bristol 410

Greetings fellow Bristol Enthusiasts! I have a relatively rookie question to ask regarding the Heater Controls in my 410. On the left knob where lists demist and defrost - what exactly does that do? Here in the US, I figure defrost means heated air blowing against the windshield, but what does demist do? I appreciate any assistance. Thank you!!

I think that demist will blow cold air up to the windscreen and maintain hot air into the car. defrost will blow hot air up onto the windscreen

Don't hold your breath - or perhaps do!
I've got a 410 as well and the demist appears to go to the windscreen and the defrost warms the occupants. Have rebuilt the heater box and fan etc and it's reasonably effective.....
Good luck!

PS Great looking car btw

Thank you Andrew!!!! I have the previous owners to thank for the wonderful shape the car is in. My responsibility is to keep it that way!!

Presumed by your "handle" that your other car was an old Mazda Miata! Looked up your profile and see other car is a GT 350 - now very jealous!

Andrew - haha - you are correct!! My first "fun car" was a 1992 Miata that I purchased in 1995 when I was about 26 years old. I loved that car!! It was so much fun. It was in the family until about 2012 - I passed it to my uncle in 1999 and then reacquired it after he died in 2008. He had a 1967 Bristol 409 which is the reason why I now have a Bristol. Such a neat car. We just did not have the space to keep all the cars it at the time so we sold his Bristol and the 1992 Miata. And for full disclosure, my 1966 GT350 is not a real one - just a clone but a fun car nonetheless. I attached a few pictures in case you are interested. I apologize in advance for fouling the Bristol Forum with some Non-Bristol images!!
