Default Suitable Tyres for 15/16 inch wheels

I have to get a full set of tyres for my 406 eventually, probably within the next 6-9 months or sooner, dependent on how quickly the project can be pushed.

I will be using a set of Minilites, 15x6.5 size, not 16 inch, as Minilites do not do that size. Looking at the www.mytyres.co.uk site I have selected what I think, from experience gleaned from many Porsche fanatics, that Continental Contact 2's (PremiumContact 2 195/65 R15 91V at £55.50 delivered) and the Michelin Energy Saver (ENERGY SAVER 195/65 R15 91V at £64 each) are great value tyres with excellent performance and life expectancy. The 15" size means a wider choice of tyres and ceratinly a cheaper tyre than say 16/17/18 inches. The tyres are V rated (150 mph).

The tests that the site offers at a particualr tyre if available are independent based on thousands of kilometres of feedback. The top two get the best ratings (1=excellent and 6 = awful). The Conti got 2.0 and the Michelin 1.8 overall.

Any personal preferences out there.
