Starter Motor
 

I need a 9 tooth pinion for a Lucas starter motor as fitted to 403 models, engine 100A.
The pinion part number is 25026B. Any ideas?

Lucas have pinion part number 291069 as being for the starter motors M35G1 with starter part numbers 25026A to E.

401 spares book also has Lucas 291069 for the starter pinion.
405 spares book also has part number Lucas 291069.

Thanks for the info. The part no 291069 was key, and luckily they appear availble. I should be sorted soon.
I have also been advised that a high torque starter motor type Wosp LMS037 would be a good alternative to the Lucas motor, should the rubber drive fail in the latter.

I have a good used 9 tooth Lucas pinion from a Bristol starter.
Price GBP20 plus postage from Australia about GBP10
