403- area around spare wheel holder

Would any members have any photographs of what the steel "cheeks" on either side of the spare wheel holder should look like. Both of mine have been "repaired" and neither is original.

Peter I am looking at these panels (see photo). As you can see mine have been repaired and I would like to confirm the original shape and size. Thanks for your help.

Here are photos of the area on my car. Also repaired (you can see the seams), but I think pretty accurate. The spare wheel tray works correctly with them.

Thanks Hugh. That’s very helpful. Antony

I wonder if anyone has a template for this panel?
What remains of my original parts seems to be made from two sheets of steel sandwiched together.

The shape of the panel can be worked out by supporting the wheel tray in closed position with side under tray removed. The critical dimension is the hinge pin.

Are your side closure plates ok? I can help with a pattern for those.

Is this a Bristol epidemic? My spare wheel holder has just gone too.

One of the hinge pins has gone through the body work and the other isn't looking good.

Is it difficult removing the tray? How hard is it to remove the pin? and do they need to be replaced?

The manual says there are 2BA screws in the base of the tray that hold the pins, but I can't find any, although it has been undersealed.
