Default Solex 32 B1 Refurb

Does anyone [here in the UK] have good recent experience of having their SOLEX 32 B1 butterfly spindles re-bushed? Who would you recommend?

I would give Burlen fuel services a try I have used them in the past for parts for the Bristol Carbs and overhauling a pair of carbs on a Bentley MK 6.
The specific job you mention though was done for me on one of the carbs on a 401 by a local engineering shop saving me having to send it to Burlen.

Default Solex car refurb

Thanks for your comments. I was beginning to think I was the first and only 403 owner to be faced with this.

I held back from replying as I don't have first hand experience of the exact work you are asking about. However:-

- Burlen did a great job of re-bushing the spindles on the SU h4s on my Austin Healey 100. Burlen don't specialise in Solex though.

- Gower and Lee stock and supply Solex parts and they provided repair kits for the Solexes on my 403. They advertise that they do rebuilds, but as I said before, I don't have experience of them for this service.

I have used Gower and Lee for Stromberg, Zenith and Solex carbs and parts for various Sunbeam applications and anything they have every done for me has been very successful; most recently (albeit a couple of years ago) they rebuilt a pair of Zenith WIA36 for me.

Default Solex b31 spindle rebush

It seems Burlen no longer do Solex, but I will now try Gower and Lee. Thanks everyone.
