I have solved the problem of the worn out hinges on the bonnet of my early 412. I took the original hinges to a chap that does water jet cutting and he made a set of new gears with the correct size teeth. I then cut the old gears off and welded the replacements in their place. The hinge now works perfectly. Any one wanting a set of replacement gears feel free to contact me. They were cheap to make and he has kept the details in his computer. The hinges are the same as 411 and I suspect the same for other V8 models.
